Thanks folks

Thanks to all who responded to mt recent post re problems a stateside
relative was having with an 84 karmann wolfsburg scirocco.

As many of you pointed out, the stall problem was indeed the in-tank
transfer fuel pump, which has now been replaced, with the net effect being
once again reliable motoring !

As to the electrical issue, it appears that the original fault was
compounded by a local mechanic who replaced the flasher unit after finding
the fuses blown. He diagnosed (correctly) a problem with the original
flasher, but somehow managed to replace it with what was afterwards found
to be an incompatible unit, which again popped the fuses. His "it needs
rewiring" explanation was not accepted, and a new flasher of the correct
type, and fuses (again) has this vehicle purring once again.

Again, thanks for your help folks, its truly appreciated.

Regards
