    well, i can tell you that during the day, the car doesn't run nearly as
strong as it does at night.  i'm attributing that to the fact that warm air
is less dense then cold, and so the motor isn't getting the proper amount of
air for the amount of gas going in.

    come to think of it, i used to run with an open airbox that had a
snorkle running into it doing the "ram-air" thing.  when i checked the plugs
then, they were the expected tan colour.  now i've got a snorkle running
into a box whose bottom is still in one piece.  maybe this reduction in
air-intake is what is causing me to run so rich?  i'm gonna look into this
one...
