mono wiper

Hey Everyone,
   I know that this subject has come up before, but I can't remember
the solution....I just got my hands on the wiper linkage from an '82
rocco!  I have just finished swaping this into my '86 16v with no
real problems   : )
   So, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to make the 
wiper "park" itself in the middle of the widshield.  Can this be
done without bending or modifying the linkage itself?
