Wanna make a Scirocco List Calendar?

I dropped a little hint a while ago about making a Scirocco Mailing List
calendar for next year (don't worry, I plan on making it Y2K compliant).

I am in touch with people who can get this job done, really nicely.
Large format, high resolution, nice covers, little pictures in the
holiday boxes...you get the idea.  Professionally done stuff, not junky.

Anyway, a large amount of pictures would need to be supplied.  Typical
web style/size images need not apply for many reasons (lack of resolution,
poor image composition, bad lighting and exposure, etc.)  We would need
some nice fresh stuff...

I am by no means a professional photographer, but working around imaging
at Kodak for more then a few years, I've picked up a few things. :)

Start with film 100 - 200 speed to reduce the possibility of grain, and
don't use a single use camera. :)  Digital imaging is
great, but in all likelyhood, there aren't many people out there using
the 10k-30k digital camera it takes to rival the quality of 35mm film
when used as a source for offset printing. Some other tips would be to
take into account the background, compose your scenes.  Frame your shots,
get everything you want, or don't want.  Generally speaking and outside of
a studio, natural light looks better then flash photography.  If it's
going to be professionally printed, it ought to appear the most
professional we can make it, right?

Prime picture taking season (good lighting, long days, green trees and
grass, many VW shows/gatherings to attend) is upon us.  Go to a park,
have a buddy shoot a few of you at the next autocross or track event,
whatever.  I'm sure we'll be taking *tons* of pictures during our
cincy cruise and I'm really looking forward to the potential arial
photos. Eat your heart out CCA! :)

I would volunteer to collect the negatives for potential inclusion, I
will scan them at very high resolution.  I'll put them up on the
web (at a lower resolution of course) and the top X most popular ones
as voted by the list get to be the main pages, and the others get
to be in some of the little day boxes throughout the year.

This will only happen if people actually make a real effort to
contribute. So get clicking.

How's that sound for a proposal?  Feedback is welcome, naturally.
