Re: Fw: April 30 - Don't buy GAS - the Local Angle

Here is another perspective (or local angle)

I work for an oil & gas engineering company. The
increased prices mean MORE WORK

woo hoo - I now have employment for the next year!

Before the prices went back to normal, the job-market
was not happening at all, and my project was coming to
a close. Yesterday I was confirmed for a slot on our
next proect, that wouldn't have gone through without
prices going back - a buncha my coworkers got laid off
a month ago, and our projects in Russia & Canada have
been getting canceled left & right for the last year.
Alternate oil suppliers have pretty much stopped
producing altogether since the OPEC crap was so cheap.

So, go buy an SUV! PLEASE! KEEP ME EMPLOYED!!!! just
don't drive it anywhere near me ;)

What this all means, in the long run is MORE MODS TO
THE ROCCO!!!! <---- necessary VW content

you all are lucky - I sent a 2pg statement on why this
chain-letter would have abssolutely no effect on the
market to the Vanagon list.... that was before I
found out I had work, and I was a little testier... :)
