If my name were Dave and I had an 81' with a 1.7L I would definately buy
the 1.8L with 50,000 miles on it and definately install it in the car.
$100 is a steal if the motor runs good. If not, find out whats wrong with
it and research fixing it to be a reliable engine for you. Even if you
have to have the head rebuilt, you would be so far ahead of the game
money wise its well worth it. The added 15hp is worth it too not to
mention the aftermarket bolt on items which can give up to 115hp easily.
