RE: Its raining in my car. Help

We all saw the post regarding water in the passenger side floor.  I noticed my plastic was ripped too, but thought nothing of it.   What kind of plastic should be used in this process.  Is a really thick garbage bag type good?  I have some industrial stuff from dairys.  (don't ask)  How should it be taped down?  What kind of tape?  Duct tape?  Something waterproof tape?  What should the end result look like?

Take your door panels off.  Look to see if the plastic is still 
there.  I bet it is not there or untapped.  If it is not there cut a 
piece of plastic to fit.  If it is there but not taped down.  then 
tape the edges real good.  most of the leaks in vw's I've seen are 
because someone worked on the car and ripped the plastic off the 
doors.
