Get yourself a set of vented rotors (about $22 each) and a set of pads to match.
Just tell 'em you need some front rotors and pads for an '84 Scirocco 8v, and
you'll get the vented ones. If you feel like upgrading to 16v 10.1" brakes, you
could do that, too, but then you'd have to change the calipers and carriers as
well. If, even after seeing how cheap new ones are, you want some used ones,
I'll sell you a pair of almost-new used vented rotors from an '83 for $20 plus
shipping. But as you can see, it's worth it to go new.
Oh yeah the brake pads will also make a BIG difference, so get some good ones,
like Pagid or Jurid or something. Or, if you want better-than-stock braking, get
some Ferodos. (DON'T get MetalMasters).
