I think RPI/Denon wants $750 for the pair, but I think I can get you a
better deal on them than that (I gots connections at those places :). I
haven't got a clue what heads cost from tuners like Velocity or TT, but
I'll bet they're more expensive than a head done by a local shop (to you)
like Shine? I'm sure their heads will make as much power as TT's or the
like?

Well, a ported head with big cams is going to sacrifice a lot of power down
low. I've driven a 1.8 16v with a very ported head and a set of 276es, and
it's a DOG under 2000rpm. It's right on the borderline between being ok
around town and not-ok around town. Above 4000, it's making a ton of
power, and right at about 6500, it starts coming on STRONG :). Strong like
someone just rear-ended you... That head, with those cams, on top of a 2
liter block, would probably work just fine around town and just KICK ASS
when you need performance. BTW don't even bother trying to pass it through
emissions... :)
