Simple and cheap thing might be to clean the battery posts and clamps and do
no less to the end of the wire that runs from Pos. battery to starter motor.
An even better thing might be to replace the same large gauge wire with one
from the local auto parts place; maybe $3-10 appox. 

This will serve to get more of the amperage through the starter and less hung
up in overcoming resistance from normal corrosion's build up.
