Most AM portions have a trim or adjustment that will need to be dialed in
during installation. It's a one time thing, it involves the fact that the
radio uses a built-inside-the-radio-AM-ant. I remember you tune for a strong
station and tweak the trim POT (potentiometer) and then fine tune it for a
weak station and your done.

Maybe more modern, digital radios might have eliminated the need to manually
adjust the things, YMMV.
