RE: SOS---- Valve Cover----

remove all the ignition wires from the plugs and pop them out of the two
"holders".  loosen the hose clamp on the throttle body connecting the
boot to the throttle body and pop off the boot.  remove the intake
plenum (the top half with the throttle body on it.)  it's held on by
13mm nuts to the bottom half, and by 13mm bolts on the back.  remove all
the nuts (mark the position of the ignition wire holders) and all the
bolts attaching the braces to the back of the plenum, then just loosen
the bolts along the bottom of the braces that bolt into the block about
3 or 4 turns.  there are 2 or 3 hoses that connect to the back of the
plenum, and one electrical connector.  the cover is held on by 10mm
bolts.  they are all the same except the two in the middle are longer.
you may need to "tap" the cover with a rubber mallet.  on the 16V, there
are two little tabs on the side of it if you need to pry it up too....
when you put it back, be careful you don't twist the ground wires on one
of those bolts on the block.  also, don't over tighten the cover bolts,
just enough to squish the gasket a little.  you'll probably need new
gaskets too.  the two long bolts in the middle will strip easily, ask me
how i know...  so it looks like you need a screwdriver, 10mm and 13mm
sockets (or wrenches if you have patience).
