Re: 'Rocco ICE Install.....HELP!!!

Hi Chris,

	 Thanks for the reply!
I am installing 2 x 12" JL Audio 12W0 (200W) subs in a twin enclosure,
that will be positioned behind the rear seats. This will be securely
fixed to the floor, with dynomatting underneath (The full inside of
the car will be dynomatted, including the roof!).I will then be
fixing a sheet of MDF to the floor of the boot, then
fix my reference 200 amp,alpine V12,inline fuses,4 into 1 blocks and
all wiring to this sheet.I will then build another false floor ontop
of this with holes cut to show amps,4 into 1 and fuses. All
wiring will be hidden as much as possible.Once this is done,I want
to fill the holes cut with clear plastic, set so that I can make up
covers to hide everything when desired.I also want to install 2 fans
at one side of the boot, blowing cool air over the 2 amps(air will be
drawn from the original back speaker vent next to the parcel shelve,
down over the amps, then out the other speaker vent on the other side).
Do you know of anyone building something like this?Do you know what
thickness of MDF I should use on the false floors? Will all this weight
affect handling?(I have Turbo Boge gas shocks and H & R springs (25mm
lowered)all sitting on 15" x 7" Borbet C alloys).Any help is very much
appriciated!

Depending on the size of the subs (you only said they were 120W), and
weather they're free-air subs, or if they're for enclosed purposes.

I have a free air 12" 300W sub that i want to drop in the rear hatch, but
of course i'd have to nuke the stock hatch for a chunk of MDF (Medium
Density Fiberboard) or HDF, probably at least 1/2" and mount the amps on
the underside, and make sure that the board is nicely bolted down so it
doesn't vibrate.

Another thing you may want to try is to build an enclosure around the spare
wheel well under the hatch .. This would make a really clean install, but
unfortunately you have 2 subs, so i don't think we'll be fitting those in
there ;).

I think your best bet would be either to mount them on the back hatch or to
build a box for both of them and drop them in the trunk.

On the subject of boxes, i built one to hold a 12" and made an oversized
baffle board to mount my 2 Amps and crossover on .. It was 4.5cubic' with
an angled baffle board on the front .. I threw it in my Jetta, and it shook
the damned thing near appart ;)
