Is it hard? Well, this is one of those jobs where you think
to yourself 'I should just put a 2.0 in while I am at it and
new lifters and a port and polish' In other words, yes it
is an involved job, You have to take off the head, oil pan,
remove the pistons, replaced the bearings (you don't have to,
but why not right?), new stretch bolts (or raceware studs)
and get new gaskets and seals. For what I want to do (new
lifters, and rings) I am guessing the price would be around $500
with me doing all the labor. It's not really that big of a deal,
just have to take her off the road for a month or two.
