David - IMHO, springs of good manufacture and swaybars are pretty safe to
buy used. Shocks are a bit iffy - if they are old, unless the price is
RIGHT, I'd shy away, as shocks do wear out. Stressbars are also safe. The
lifetime warranty on shocks (Koni/Bilstein) is only good for the original
owner. If you do buy a set of K/B, however, they are rebuildable - if you
get a cheap used set, find that they die soon/are dead, you can get them
rebuilt. Konis cost $50 or so to rebuild(each). So, if the price is
right, or you can trust the seller when s/he says "almost new," shocks are
not necessarily a *bad* purchase, but require a bit more caution than
springs/swaybars/stressbars. IMHO, of course.
