     First, forget about 6x9's.  Here is why, if you throw a rock in a pond 
     the splash causes waves which radiate in CIRCLES.  This is also how 
     sound travels.  6x9's are oval, not the best for producing great 
     audio.  (Note: have you ever seen oval speaker design in home stereos, 
     or movie theaters?)  If you are not an Audiophile I guess it is no big 
     deal, and I have heared great sounding 6x9's, but they are a thing of 
     the past invented to go on the rear deck's of muscle cars.
     
     Your best bet it to go with 5 1/4 or 6" MB Quart speakers or something 
     of that nature.  If you have power windows you can relocate the PW 
     switch to the door panel arm-rest, ant place the speakers in the area 
     of the old PW switch.  If you don't have PW, upgrade to it, or make 
     shift some panels down in the foot wells (like is often done on VW 
     Bugs)

I'm planning on buying 2 6" / 9" speakers with incorporated 
crossovers and tweeters.  Where is the perfect location for the front 
of the Scirocco?
     
I find that speakers in the door are not a very good idea.  I would 
prefer on the dash or something.  Anyone has ideas?
     
Also, what brand should I aim for?
