Hi guys, I just subscribed to the list a few days ago and though I would
give this one a shot. I just did this job on my 87 16v. A real
easy way to go about it, is to buy the carrier bracket and the Heavy
duty mount (my original carrier bracket was bent anyway). Get em
pressed together and viola, none of the trouble getting the old mount
out of the bracket. I have heard you also have to take the timing
belt tensioner off, I managed to get the new mount in without doing
this.
I am doing a write up on this because the FAQ's cover 8v engines only.
I should have it done soon and will put it up on my page. The whole
job took me about 3 hours.
