If you are truly not comfortable with FI and "No Start" problems, my best 
suggestion is to find a copy of Richard Sealey's "How To Keep Your 
Volkswagen Alive". This is a great book with EXCELLENT "step-by-step" 
diagnostic procedures.

The catch? It is out of print :( Try the local libraries and used book 
stores. This is a truly great book for the novice mechanic and a great 
de-bug reference for the more experienced.
