Definately, well put....
that guy at Rapid just put himself down more than anyone in my book.
Anyone who doesn't give respect to something new and different or
Incredibly CHALLENING is an idiot. I give that guy with the VR6 TOTAL
respect. I have to say that for ONE man, who has worked on VWs for 15
years to just take on the task for 2 years and then be able to drive the
car, is pretty amazing. Most VR6 conversions have some pretty hectic
problems. I have talked to about 7-9 people who have helped with,
attempted, or done the conversion already and all say it's a pain in the
ass but is totally worth it once it's done. That guy with the VR6 has
already hooked up with an Audi Quattro system from a 4000 sedan and he
says he'll make it fit!!! The width of the axles is the same and he
already knows how he can cut and shorten the drive axle to fit the wheel
base of the roc. I just want to know how he'll modify the tranny!!! I
need a 2 hour conversation with his car on a lift and the Quattro next
to it to figure how all this will/has worked. That's like a *friend* of
mine who called the twin VR6 Rallye Golf in England a "waste of a
Golf"!!! Give respect where it's due! The car is driven daily for
kasheeshe's sake! He hooked up the manual shift linkage to both engines
which is pretty amazing. One goes one way, the other goes the
opposite! damn....
