Re: Pulley question yet again. . . .

Just removed my a/c on my 'roc... Easy job but the bolts on the
pulleys are VERY easy to strip. (I paid 20$ to get two lousy bolts
out!!)

Find a stock rabbit/jet/roc/cab without A/C. Notice the pulleys are
very close to the block (no offset for the A/C). You need to replace
the water pump pulley and crank pulley (7 x 6mm allen key).

To remove the condensor, you must remove the rad. That means you
must drain the coolant.

(I noticed a 2-5 hp increase when I removed the compressor, 100 lbs
less and probably 1 MPG more)

The job takes at least 3 hr. The hard part is the pulley bolts.
Refill with new coolant while your at it & get a new belt for stock
roccos without A/C.

Good luck.
