Amp gauge

i know this is a dumb Question  but this just has not been my week so ill ask
this Question so i dont Screw up something. Anyone know where the + wire goes
from the amp guage??? obviously it is not to the + on the battery or for that
matter anyswitch that goes directly to the Battery . i did that and you can
image the fireworks i got. so ?? any ideas?? i bought it to see if i had enuf

Start the car with. ive got Everything so Advanced that it takes a ton of
juice to get it started hot plugs to dual ignition oversized wires etc. you
can imagine that when it does start its like a roccet<< that is why i need
the amp guage any info would be helpful. By the way the RC project  is still
on the back burner especially during Race season i just cannot get to it ive
got two race cars im constantly working on and Tons of Race parts to be
shipped Those Adjustable Cam sprockets are Really Taking off especially since
Techtonics advertised them with there name on it.
