Re: G60 lore & wide bodied Scirocco's

Chris,
A friend of mine was just here visiting from Germany for a week. He
had a friend who built a beutiful Maroon G60 scirocco with a custom
intake and intercooler set up and 17 inch Azev wheels. After the car was
stolen, he built a stock looking 16v G60 rabbit. He took a stock 1.8 16V
motor and matched up the G60 to it. The guy is an architecure student
who builds cars for a hobby! The German TUV is so stringent on getting
cars of this nature certified, that he had to replace the fron brakes
with some Porsche units for increased stopping power. Let me know if you
decide to go through with this and I will try to get some more details
for you. Apparently, several people have done the conversion in Germany.
Also, in the new issue of Turbo magazine, there is a Yellow REiger wide
bodies 84 'rocco with a turbo and nitrous set-up, from Hawaaii. The car
looks good, but every Reiger Widebody 'Roc, I have seen is Yellow, no
originality. It looks pretty cool though
