Strut update: the passenger side strut they sold me was defective.  It is
being replaced as we speak.  Labour and everything included, so I'm just
without my beloved Scirocco for a day.

I phoned up the H&R representative in Canada.  He said that these springs
don't require a performance strut to work.  Of course, putting in a better
strut may help handling, but it isn't a technical requirement.
