Re: idle speed

If you have to keep the idle at 1500 to keep it running with out stalling
you probably do have a vaccum leak look for a hose that could of fallen
off
cracked hoses cane cause a vaccum leak
injector seals are a common cause for a vaccum leak
ues visual inspection first
If you cant find leak and you have a propain hand held torch
you can use propain to find leaks open torch and aim it at injectors
if idle changes goes up you have bad injector seals (replace all seals)
Use propain to check hoses Vaccum leak is were air is entering into
engine were it should not throwing air to fuel mixture off
witch should be 14.7 parts air to 1 part fuel
it will suck up propain chaning idle (higher)if leak
(this is a safe way to check for vaccum leaks)
you can buy an adapter to fit on bottle that has a hose that makes it
easyer but I just use a trusty propain torch
propain is heavyer than air so place it on top of area you are checking.
keep it away from air box intake or you will make idle go up
thinking you have a vaccum leak.
Carb cleaner can be used but is dangerouse if you dont know what you are
doining it is vary flammable and can catch on fire if you use to much
