FOr what? Let us know what you're planning on asking of the tires, maybe
narrow down the choices.

It is possible to keep the stock diameter while using 15"
wheels.......reconsider, possibly?

The stock config. on my car is
>175-70-R13. To keep the same diameter on 14" wheels, what size tire do I
>need to get? 175-70-R14?

185/60-14
195/55-14
205/55-14

A 175/70 14 would be one inch taller than a 175/70-13.

First # equals tread width in mm, second # = aspect ratio, third is wheel
size. For example -

215/50-15 - 215mm wide, with a 50% aspect ratio - the sidewalls are 50% of
the width of the tire, so 107.5mm sidewalls, then a 15" wheel. So, a
215/50-15 is inherently (2") taller than a 215/50-13. Make sense? Now, if
you do the math, you'll find that the 205/55-14 is *slightly* big - it is
not an issue, the difference is very slight. Some friends are running
225/50-14s on their Rabbit GTI, and the difference is noticeable there.
