Once a friend of mine who wanted to buya Covette to restore saw this 78
Convertible on the paper for $1200. It seemed a bargain, acuse the car ran.
So we went there. The car was horrible. The engine indeed ran, but on 4 or 5
pistons only. The exhaust was gone and so were the brakes. We were going 15
mph and we could barely stop for a red light and almost hit a truck. The
worse was that a few rabid dogs had been living inside the vette for a while,
so the car stunk of dog piss and dog stech, and the seats were all torn by
the dogs. the nastiest part was when my friend before leaving the car steped
on a big dog dropping right next to the brake pedal!!!!! The owner of the car
wouldn't sell it for less than $1000, and my friend was willing to pay $50 at
most. Good think he didn't get that car.
