	Night Shadow:
	I checked all the grounds, cleaned them, added another ground from the alternator shell to the negative on the battery.  It is definately the resistor wire that feeds the coil. 
	Amna:
	The wire is the resistor, it is a resistance wire.
	I wouldn't have ripped out my points if the shaft wasn't worn and the car would no longer run right!
