Some Scirocco Pics

I think my Mk1 has one of those on it. Got some compliments on it at Cincy, but I told the truth and said it's not the factory dash. :P Not installed very well though- basically slapped on there with some glue- but I like your idea. I'll add that to my list when it's time for teardown.... :P

I got this dash skin from ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/75-76-77-78-to-88-Volkswagen-Scirocco-Dash-Pad-Overlay_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ40017QQihZ006QQitemZ160160432797QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
Its hard plastic but it still looks a lot better than the old cracked and warped dash! There instructions were to just lay some of their glue down and put it on but my dash was pretty warped and cracked, so I filled all the cracks with some speedgrip and sanded it down flat. And I managed to get the warps out of it by clamping some angle iron with some vise grips. I then used some really slow setting speedgrip and glued the skin on outside of the car and put a lot of clamps on it. I think it turned out pretty well. I will take some more pictures of it when I get it installed.

Just thought I'd share some pics of my Scirocco resto project. Rocco is an 83. I had to take out the sunroof and completely clean it. I just finished putting a new skin on the dash this weekend. The seats are out getting reupholstered right now, and there is a 2L 16V thats almost been rebuilt, waiting to go in. http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd105/wolfsburgnut/Scirocco%20Pictures/Peter_________________________________________________________________ Invite your mail contacts to join your friends list with Windows Live Spaces.
