How to fix car? Can't find a 16V Fuel Distributor

Hmm, I _do_ have a lot of time on my hands for the summer. MS . . .
I've just skimmed bits about that online, seems like quite a challenge
- now that would be a project. I was considering hitting the cost of
something a little easier to do on the credit card, but even
attempting to try a do it yourself thing like that would teach me a
lot to do.

Assuming I'm starting from zero knowledge, is megasquirt possible to
do in a summer? I could probably put a few hours a week on it. Also,
I have no covered place to work, so anything that could be ruined by a
bit of rain wouldn't work.

So how does this work without the fuel distributor? What is done differently?
