Car still won't start :(

Oh, yeah. We checked all fluids and that kind of stuff before trying
anything. I have a wheeled-cooler full of "stuff to start a car", like oil,
ether, gas, etc etc etc. I have also tried the bypass grounding, to no
avail. Also, set the flywheel and engine turns easily.

Had another respected friend stop by (70-something grandpa type who has
worked on all types of cars and planes, even built his own plane). I asked
for his opinion. We went out and tried to crank her, and he said "Oh, easy
enough, your timing belt has slipped. You need to set the timing." I told
him I had set the flywheel, but he believes it is the cam. So, I guess at
this point I am going to take everyone's newest tips and start going down
this list.

1. Replace timing belt and set timing (even though the belt looks new,
might as well replace it while I am in there).
2. Test (and most likely replace) starter.
3. Wait for Dan Snow to visit in February and let him get the car started
(heh, heh).

I have TOTAL faith that this car will start. I really don't believe the
engine is toast, because of the progress I have made (from no noises to
almost starting). I believe what is holding this engine back is the fact
that I am totally non-mechanical. I have to really try and study the
Bentley (and reference the Clymer and Haynes) in order to attempt anything
related to fixing the car. I appreciate everyone's input. The weather
forcast looks good for the days ahead, so hopefully I will be able to get
out there and get something done.
