Volkswagen is the Official Pace Car of SCCA and SCCA Pro Racing

Well... the $2200 estimate jumped to $2700ish at the last minute.
When I made the last payment (on the $2200 tab) I asked if we were
still on target with the estimate and we were.

There were things that had to be done putting it together that brought
the bill up. It needed a few boots and some other things. I haven't
seen the itemized list but I think there's a clutch in there since I
took my 16v kit back for the 87.

I am not upset about the difference I just don't have the cash, so it
sits with the mechanic. (Who by the way is really good) I am not
complaining. Just bad timing for me.

Baby is coming soon and we can't even afford a name... It's a girl and
I kinda had my heart set on "GoJo" but the old lady gives me that
shallow grave look every time I mention it. Sigh. She knows I get to
hold her first and she's going to be sedated after the C-section. So
I might slip it in yet. :) If it is a boy she has no choice, but we
already know it's a girl. So I get a boy dog...

My oldest still wants a Barbie Pink Cabriolet so there's still hope
that the VW gene didn't completely stamped out of our little gene
puddle. She's already told the salesmen at the Dodge Dealership that
the yellow thing he was trying to impress her with "wasn't really a
Charger, it had too many doors." I about fell the fuck over laughing.
Her grandfather, before he died, was a big MOPAR guy and used to
grumble about that all the time. I know she was just repeating
something she heard from him, but for a 5 year old to keep that
connection was awesome. The salesman scurried away with his tail
between his legs.
