SOT: where does all the coolant go?

OK, so not much garage time this evening :( Don't know how many are you are
part of the 10% of Americans that do NOT live within 15 miles of a Walmart,
but I am, and you can imagine that means there are NO stores of any size or
quality nearby. I work in one town, but Sears is in another town about 35
miles away. So, by the time I got off work, went to the bank, got to Sears
(for car tools), stopped at Circuit City to ream them out about my stereo
(bought it open box style, but the remote is missing, WTF?, how do you work
a stereo in the car without a remote), went to Michaels for knitting/crochet
supplies, stopped at Advance Auto, ate dinner and went to the grocery store,
it was after 9 before I got home to play. But, oh joy oh joy, a boc labeled
germanautoparts.

So, new tools and new injector seats in hand, I went to work. After
changing the bad one, I decided I will just wait for the others to break
before changing them (how many threads are there on this little part?). But
before firing her up, I had checked the coolant after last start attempt,
because the water light blinked too long (heh, I did read the owner's
manual). The coolant was what I thought a little chibariba (means teenie)
low (like about 1 1/2-2 inches from the min mark). So, I had tried to buy
just a small amount of coolant, but they only sell it in these large
containers. So I start to pour, get to min mark and pull back. The coolant
level drops again. OK, fill up again. Level drops again. On and on and
on. I think I used 1/3-1/2 of the container. But, where does all that
coolant go? If I could see the coolant before, and I add and add and add,
where is it? I checked for a puddle, and there is none. Hmmmmm, just
another car mystery for me to solve another day (like, who feeds the mice
that run on the flywheel to make the car go?).

Anyway, just musing. But, she still won't stay started. I only tried once
for about 30 seconds. Water warning went off at the proper time. And the
smell at start is changing. Little less burny-farm-vehicle, little more
gassy sort-of ethanolly (except I didn't spray any ethanol this time). I
hope she starts tomorrow.

Lexan <---crossing fingers and hoping for the car fairy to visit (I left
old parts for her to take)
