OT: Linux Question

Knoppix has been really good for me so far, I can boot off the CD and
I don't have to make a permanent install. I did work with Lycoris
quite a bit a few years ago but for some reason it doesn't detect most
of the hardware in this toshiba laptop. (but it did on a really old
and slow dell?!?)

I have or at least did make a permanent install of knoppix and it
crashed on me. This laptop has a defunct battery (it's five years old
and still respectable) and my one year old unplugged it and it never
came back got stuck in some sort of error 13 loop. Maybe it wasn't
13. It was (something)teen...LOL I didn't bother to write it down
and blew out the partition. I have two seperate hard drives for this
one so I am going to load up windows on the larger one as I am likely
to dump alot of games and stuff on it, and then experiment with the
other drive... I don't think like mentioned above that I will abandon
windows altogether simply because there isn't (much) game support in
Linux.

I appreciate the suggestions. I will probably trying them all before it's over.
