Priming the oil pump (8 valve)



According to the Water-Cooled VW performance handbook (by Greg Raven)..

"If you have access to a cutoff saw, cut about 8 inches of 3/8 bar stock and
notch the end of it to fit it over the drive tang of the oil pump (With the
distributor removed).  Then chuck up the bar stock in a drill motor and
manually p-rime toe oil galleys using the oil pump.  Hold on tight to the
drill motor, as when the oil is at room temp and pressure builds, you will
run into strong resistance"

They also make reference to pressurized oil available...
