sciroccos & towing

   as said in a previous message, i have an '85 that i plan to be towing 
with. i'm working on a utility trailer, but there is a '77 rabbit in 
tennessee that i'm interested in. assuming that i don't have to brave 
the smokies, should my car be able to pull the bunny home? i have a 1 
7/8" ball and hope that i might be able to rent a tow dolly from u-haul, 
though i don't know what size their receiver is. if my car does have the 
muster, i might be willing to pull more cars with it. didn't someone 
fabricate a tow harness for a scirocco that didn't require a dolly? thanx.
