Brakes

Well, I'm going all the way .Rear rotors too.I thought that If I couldn't
make it go fast I didn't have to worry about stopping or steering. Now, I
must make it stop then I'll worry about pointing it in the right direction.

Holy cow! You were out driving around, going like a bat out of hell, with
precious old Dan in your car and you only have 9.4" front brakes????? ;^)

I'd definitely get new rotors. I like the ATE Power rotors.
Also, getting a new master cylinder would be a good idea. Seems like used
ones fail so easily especially if you use a lot of stroke while bleeding the
brakes and the seals get into a sludgy area of the bore. Corrado non-ABS MC
is the ticket here as Patrick pointed out years ago.
Unless you're upgrading the rear brakes to discs you shouldn't need the 16V
proportioning valves.
16V (pedal?) cluster shouldn't be needed either. You just need to mount a
brake light switch to the pedal cluster which is pretty easy do considering
your skills. I have pictures somewhere of the little bracket fabbed up for
Kirsten's MK I and Cathy also did this and might have some pics.
Unfortunately I have no parts.

It's the Peters fault. At cincy he managed to convince me that Rose wouldn't
stop fast enough with the big engine.Go fast stop fast is his motto.I don't
get up to 110mph much less drive there. He must have been in a hurry to get
home.He may have been running from the law and not even know it.
Peter is supplying some of the parts but I still need the
following.2 -10.1" front rotors,16 V Scirocco carriers,16V proportioning
valves, and a 16V cluster with a new or rebuildable master cylinder.I plan on
going with stainless steel lines.
I also need lots of technical input, tricks, and what don't work.
If I get started now maybe I can be ready for testing the night before I
leave for Cincy next year.Aren't we always bolting on the last piece just
before leaving.I think that is standard procedure.
Parts help and ideas are welcome.
