16V Brake Booster problem

The orange foam is sort of a sound deadener as far as I know.
When you apply the brakes the vacuum sucks an internal diaphragm to assist
the braking force.
When you let off the brakes that vacuum needs to be released and it is
apparently vented around the rod and through the foam. So, basically without
the foam every time you let off the brakes you'll hear the air sucking into
the booster.
The foam is probably deteriorating and falling out. Probably better to
remove it than have particles sucked into the booster.
