Did i just buy a '78 Champaigne Edition?
Yep, sounds like my 78 Champagne Edition II. Dash should be all black
with no wood of any kind. No "Scirocco" wording anywhere in the interior
except the door sills. All black interior except for a white headliner.
Chrome door release levers and chrome cap at the top of the door pulls.
Carpeted trunk. Front grill is all black with a white faced VW emblem.
Rear taillights have a small black trim across the top with a black filler
panel across the rear license plate area. Rear emblems are white with
black faces. Black gutter trim pieces. Moving front vent windows. Black
trim pieces around the front windshield and rear hatch glass mouldings.
That mostly describes mine.
