my mk1 won't start

To be just a little more clear there is a ~1/8" diameter red wire that has a
quick connnect spade lug on the end of the starter solenoid. This is the
wire that goes to the starter position of the ignition switch. i.e. it
provides the current to pull in the solenoid and power the starter motor.
Pull the quick connect off of the solenoid, crimp it just a bit with a pair
of pliers and reinstall on the solenoid.
Worked for me 7 years ago.
