What transmission would YOU recommend?

I am in the process of making the conversion that you are speaking of.Mine
is mostly complete. It is a aba turbo with a megasquirt stand alone fuel
injection controller.I have just installed an ACN tranny which has the
gearing very close to the FF.I'm not a very aggressive driver but I really
enjoyed the long 5th gear in the FF and the ACN has that. The trans will fit
the aba okay but you may have to use the 90mm cv joints or convert to the
100mm joints which causes some axle issues.I put the 90mms back in.If you
are going to drive aggressively convert to the 100s while you doing the
install. You might also want to consider a limited slip diff.It will
certainly help the traction.Peter is the man on that he knows all.
The aba turbo is a lot of fun with no fuel mileage sacrifice. My fuel
mileage is as good as the 1.6 was..The air intake is a problem that I solved
with a log manifold.I used a volvo turbo that I had rebuilt.FUN
!FUN!FUN!!!!!!!!!
