What transmission would YOU recommend?



Correct.

There are a few 'drawbacks' (if you look at them as such):
- 90mm vs. 100mm (AGBs are 100mm shafts)(so if you're swapping AGB->FF, you
have to get shafts too...and a pressure plate/clutch IIRC.
- the AGBs have the limited slip differential whereas the FF/FNs have no LSD
- they're more expensive
- they're harder to come by
