Okay, well, here's a few reasons. I know that the students where I work
will need it. And my TDI has always been a crabby starter when it dips
below -10C, and admittedly my present battery is a bit lacking if it's
truly cold. But I have no option, the space provided by the wise folks at
VW is not big enough to hold the battery I'd like (700+CCA just will not
fit, and I'm not eating up the already tiny hatch space for it either). SO
I save up for a redtop I guess, but till then, I'll choose to start 98% of
the time unassisited, and carry the booster for the other 2% of the time.
Unless you drive a New Beetle in cold temps, I don't need to hear about it.
:P
My Roccs both started today, BTW, without need of any assistance. The pack
has been very handy, we always have way more cars around here than we have
good batteries for. It's much easier to carry the pack over than jockey two
cars into position for a boost. And don't even get me going on charging
systems.
