First of all: I can't get my hood open!

I always had to pull the release and hit the hood, it worked all the 
time.  Last Saturday at an autocross I started having problems with it, 
I had help, we got it open, but now it won't disengage on the passenger 
side at all, no matter how much pushing, prodding, tugging, etc, I do, 
with or without help.  I'll pull the grill tomorrow as see if I can get 
it open.
