CIS gurus, please advise (tech)...

Yeah, despite the hot weather, I've never seen this engine vapor lock.

The plunger moves freely.  I can tell it is returning home, as it provides resistance to the air flow sensor plate.  Also, with
pressure bled off, it has significantly less resistance (expected).  There are very thin slits along the plunger cylinder, and it is
likely that they can be clogged, but unless the fuel filter catastrophically failed, it's fairly unlikely.  I still intend to dive
further into it tomorrow, and will likely clean it, but I'm trying to avoid screwing with the plunger gland nut alignment if at all
possible.
