Painting bumpers

I have gone through many, many cans of that stuff. Permatex Color Guard,
Plasti-Dip, it's all more or less the same. I used it as part of the
process for an item I used to manufacture. It's really just like
rubber...hardens, but remains elastic. It certainly won't crack if you
apply it to your bumpers.

What is will do is peel. It will not bond to your bumpers, just envelop
them like a latex glove. If you put a thin enough coating (1 to 2 "dips"),
I could imagine one little tear starting to blow up like a baloon at highway
speed.

You'll have to brush it on something that big and it will be really hard to
achieve a uniform thickness.

Krylon Fusion....from Auto Zone or possibly Home Cheapo.
Scrub the bejesus out of the bumpers with a scrub brush (plastic) and simple
green or spray nine (both powerful), then Scrub a whole lot more with 3M
General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner (#08984), which will remove all wax, oil,
soap, etc.
