Coolant Sensor and other strangeness

Ok as I mentioned when I hijacked Daun's thread temporarily I was
going to do a few things to the 85 as it is driveable again.

The tails are working now... found two bad bulbs and a corroded
socket. I cleaned it up and it works good now.

My oil temp gauge that was moved for the car stereo install hasn't had
light in a long time so I put a meter on it and I have 12v so I
assumed it was the bulb. Since there was no hope of getting that on a
sunday, I figured out how to scavenge the mount and install a green
LED in it's place. Looks and works very well. This was from one of
those cheapass fast and furious (aka CRAP) LED kits for interior
lighting of your ghetto ass Honda. (read that: it was set up for 12v)
I shitcanned all but the LED so I don't feel like I installed any
jinky shit in my car.

I didn't get to the reverse light switch... I figure with the exhaust
hosed, it is audible compensation for no reverse lights. If they
can't hear me backing up F' em (until I get more time)

I also moved my "aux" power socket, and installed a thicker gauge of
cable on it. I don't want to attempt to power an inverter and find
out that it was too small a wire. That would suck.

As stated before the new bushing is in no problems.

Now about this damn coolant sensor... I found a break and one of the
wires is VERY brittle. So I attempted to strip the wire and pulled it
free of the connector so I have to go to a junkyard tommorow and see
if I can find one to splice in. I was very angry. I followed the
wire back to where it wasn't brittle or corroded and stripped it there
and tried what someone suggested with shorting them together. No
luck, light still blinks. Also for grins I put a meter on the sensor
in the coolant resevoir. It is something in the Meg-Ohm range but it
wouldn't settle on a number. Any thoughts anyone???

TIA
Chris
