G60 setup is going to be MINEMINEMINE - look!

Shame he has to part the thing. :( I was watching his work on it, and he seems to have done a good job.

My recommendation: Ask when the charger was rebuilt last. Ask who did it. If it was KompressorKanada or BBM, call them and verify that they did it at that time.

If the charger was not rebuilt recently by either KompressorKanada or BBM, budget $600 to get it rebuilt by one of them ASAP. Or, perhaps you can work with the current owner to send it for inspection before making the sale final. $1000 is IMHO a tad on the high end for the setup, but in case you haven't done the math since reading the last sentence, $1000 is definitely WAY too much money if the charger is in unknown condiditon.

Bottom line: a dead or dying charger will make you wish you never set eyes on that engine! Make 100% sure you know what you are getting.

I personally recommend Dave at KompressorKanada... http://www.kompressorkanada.ca

Naturally, I'd also be interested in knowing how many miles are on the long block, do a compression test, etc. Again, for $1000 it better be a 100% SOLID setup. If a previous charger blew chunks into the intake, it can kill or mame a good engine and it may not be obvious without a compression test. It seems that valve seats don't like things other than air and fuel to try to get past them...ask how I know! Think of the Black Knight in Monte Python and the Holy Grail...more than just a flesh wound. But otherwise the PG is a pretty stout engine...

 Good luck, and have fun!

Can someone tell me why I should *not* jump on this
(assuming it comes with electronics and all that
jazz)?
