Two new t-stats and new waterpump can't be faulty, right? (8v)

Drilling the T-stat is unnecessary in either car, 16V or 8V.  Fill the car
up with coolant as normal, then rev the car @ 3.5K to 4K.  If there is an
air pocket, it will be forced to the expansion tank.  With that in mind,
keep an eye on the water level there.  It can drop pretty quickly...  Once
the fan kicks in, it SHOULD be fully burped.  It does sound like your rad is
clogged though, Jeff.  Can you get your hand at the different spots on the
rad to check temp?  If you have an extra 60.00, you go get a pyrometer.  You
might also through tons of cooling system flush and see what comes out of
it...
