Some Scirocco 16V Questions

Two comments.
1. I'm not sure where the rear tire cupping is coming from. Neither my 76,
79 or 87 ever showed any tendency to cup.
My 84 has done this since I bought it. Rear alignment is fine. The only cure
that I know is to rotate the tires every 5000miles or so.
2. I disagree with Allyn that camber should be closer to zero with wider
tires. The Scirocco rear suspension has zero camber gain. i.e the tires move
parallel to the body, and the front suspension has minimal camber gain. The
net effect is the tires lean almost as much as the body rolls in turns. To
get the tire tread flatter on the ground while cornering it's good to have
some static negative camber. 1-1.5 degree won't effect tire wear or straight
line traction and will offer some improvement in cornering grip.
