Acid Dipping Engines

First, let me clarify that this post is about cleaning engines by emersing them in acid, as opposed to the general topic of "dropping acid".  :)



What kind of acid is used to clean engines and such?  Put more generally, what kinds of acids will eat everything on the planet except steel and aluminum?
